What is causing my mower to not start?

It's a Poulan Pro model: PR65Y21MA It has fresh gas and a new spark plug.

If the mower sat for any length of time with any gas in it, the carburetor is more than likely the culprit. As the gas begins to break-down, the deposits left behind can stop up the carburetor. It is also possible that the ignition coil has failed and is not producing spark. I would recommend having a qualified technician have a look at your machine to properly diagnose the issue.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
