What position on depth stake do you use on the rear tine tiller when using the furrow attachment?

I have a Craftsman 825 series 14" rear tine tiller with counter rotating tines. Model No. 917.297021. Using 10" furrow model no. 486.290900. Owner manual of furrow says to attach to depth stake and operate in 'F' position. I am assuming this means the Forward gear. Operation manual sheet does not tell much. I am guessing that I need to remove the leveling shield and operate the depth stake in the top (shallowest) position--this is just guessing. Please help. This is new to me; first time to operate a tiller/furrow attachment.

Yes, the leveling shield will need to be removed when using the furrow. The depth stake height is something you'll need to adjust based on how deep you want your furrows (trenches) to be. Usually having the stake set pretty high is how most I've seen are set up.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
