Why is my garage door opener's red light flashing at 5 flash intervals?
We just replaced the sprocket assembly & worn gear. When adjusting the settings, the motor turned off due to heating. Everything is working properly except the red light is flashing at 5 flash intervals.

Without a model number, it is difficult to accurately predict the cause of your red light flashing 5 times on the garage door opener. On many Craftsman garage door openers, the 5 flashing lights indicate a problem with the motor RPM sensor. You can try resetting this fault by completely unplugging the garage door opener for 5 minutes and then plugging it back in. If the fault resumes, then you may need to replace the RPM sensor. This explanation may not be valid for your model. If you have the owner's manual, it should cover this fault in that document for your garage door opener.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the the full model number of your garage door opener.
