The Craftsman 675 Series Briggs & Stratton lawn mower have been in storage over the winter. Try starting it up and it would run with some white smoke at first, then it would run as norm for about 30-40 sec and stops. I will not start up again.
If the machine has been out of use for several months I would suspect some condensation build up in the fuel. Drain the fuel tank and put some fresh clean regular unleaded fuel in it. Also, I would recommend changing the oil and replacing the spark plug.
More than likely there is some stale gas in the carburetor and head causing the white smoke you mentioned. If after doing those things you still cannot get the engine to start, I would recommend you have the carburetor serviced.Member
