I have 2 of the keyless entry remote models 13953684. I have one remote for each of my 2 garage doors. About a week ago they started acting up. When I used one keypad the opposite door would open, etc. Then one stopped working and now one is controlling both. My first thought was that a battery was dead so I've changed the battery and now the back light comes on but I can't get it to program. The other one is still running both garage doors so when I use it, it opens or closes both - I don't know how or why.
I recommend erasing all of the codes in both garage door openers. One of the garage door openers may have a memory that is full. Erasing all of the codes will allow you to program all of the remotes for each door separately. Once you have all of the remote codes erased, unplug one of the garage door openers to completely disconnect electrical power. Use the LEARN button on the garage door opener that is still powered up to reprogram all of the remotes that you want to use on that unit. The instructions for programming the keyless entry remote are shown in the image below.
After you program all of the remotes on the first garage door opener, unplug it to disconnect electrical power. Plug in the second garage door opener and program all of the remotes that will be used on that unit. After programming all of the remotes, test the remotes with both garage door openers plugged back in to check the operation. This should fix your problem unless you still have weak batteries in one of the remotes. If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model numbers of the garage door motor units.Member
