I am replacing a garage door opener. The ceiling height is 8'2". I'm told this is a problem. Is this true?
I am replacing a 25 year old Sears unit. The gears are stripped. The installer said he is not sure any unit would work since the ceiling height is 8'2' and every unit he sells requires at least a height of 8'6".

The garage door opener will install in a ceiling height of 8'2". I recommend you talk to some other installers. There will be no problem in installing the opener in your garage.
