I have a new model 139.53778 remote to replace an old model 139.654031 transmitter. It doesn't work. Why?

The opener is a model 139.653000. It has no "learn" button or code switches for programming. The existing receiver model is 139.652021. It has code switches that I set to correspond with the new transmitter. It was bought on order number E071966.

To replace the remote for your garage door opener, you need to order 53682. This is a kit that includes the receiver and transmitter. The cost is around $70.00.

Your receiver won't work with remotes without dip switches, and we don't have dip switch remotes anymore. The new receiver will have a learn button and led inside it and will work with the new remotes.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
