Why is the smart light always flashing on my garage door opener so that any Sears remote will open the door?
I have a Craftsman garage door opener model 139.53637SRF that was made in August 1994. With the flashing light any code opens my door. So any Sears remote can open my garage door.

This sounds like a logic board problem or a stuck button. If the smart button is not stuck in the depressed position, the try unplugging the opener to completely disconnect electrical power. This may reset the logic board if it was stuck due to a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines. If the opener still will not operate properly, I recommend replacing the opener. The price of a logic board for this opener would be about the same price as a new garage door opener.
