First I'd like to apologize for my tardy answer. Your question was routed to the wrong place and just now found it's way to the correct place to be answered.

I hope you have already solved your problem but the following link contains information to help solve this problem: Woodpecker Problems and Solutions .

A small hole can be patched with a top of an can nailed over the hole and painted.

The best solution to prevent woodpeckers from making holes is by creating a Hawk silhouette mobile and hanging it near the siding that is being damaged.

I hope this information helps to resolve your problem and once again I'm sorry for the time it took to get your answer. If you try use again most questions are answer within 1-2 days.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
