I have a Kenmore dishwasher model number 1574991. Last week it was giving steam vapors on the settings of pots & pans and it ran for 3 1/2 hours. I need to know how long the normal & pots-pans cycle should run.
The length of the cycle depends on several factors; water temp, water pressure, soil level & options chosen. The pot & pans cycle duration is listed at 97 minutes, but this does not include the fill time or thermal hold. Thermal holds take 2 minutes to raise the water temperature 1 degree. You can calculate how long the thermal holds will last by comparing the incoming water temperature to the default temperature of the operating thermostat. If you have 100 degree water supply & the temperature has to reach 140 degrees before cycling, the thermal hold will be approx. 80 minutes. The normal cycle duration is listed at 95 minutes.I did find a service note stating that if your dishwasher is installed at the end of an un-insulated cabinet the cycle times will be longer. This will require replacing the operating thermostat & bracket, part number 675735.Be sure the incoming water temperature is at least 120 degrees; always purge the line by running the sink with hot water before starting the dishwasher. NOTE; if you choose hi-temp wash or sani wash/rinse, the cycles will be longer. If the cycles are still running too long, you may need to have the unit checked by a technician.
