Answer itI have a 139.53636srt opener. Will a 53778 or a 53758 remote work with this opener? I have a 53779 now.
I would like to add 2 more remote controls to my existing two 53779 units. It looks like the 53779 has been replaced by 53879. My receiver has a green srt button. From what I have found, the color of the SRT button determines the compatibility for 5300 series. I don't need all three functions on the 2 new units. Any ideas as to will the 53758 & 53778 open & close the door?

The 53778 and 53758 remotes are the older technology. They will not work with your garage door opener. If you have bought a 53778 or 53758 remote, return them and replace them with a 53779 or 53879.You are correct. The 53879 remote replaces the 53779. These remotes have the same technology as your garage door opener.Erase all the codes in the memory of the logic board of your garage door opener before programming new remotes. The memory of the logic board will store 4-6 codes, it will not accept any more codes when the memory is full.
