My Craftsmen Model 139.53970SRT garage door won't close unless the button on the wall control is held. Otherwise door will reverse up.
Additionally the Learn light is blinking and the safety beam on the green receiver light twinkles.

When the led on the door safety sensor blinks, the door sensors are out of alignment. The learn light is blinking a code to tell you where the problem is.
I am sending you an image of the flash codes for the learn light.If you get the door safety sensors aligned until the led is on steady, I think you will solve your problem.
