Why is the oven flame too large after replacing the valve on my Kenmore range?

I have a Kenmore range model 66575779890. The serial number is RK0116383. The oven flame was out. The top broiler was okay. I ordered a new valve. Now the oven flame is too large. The other flames are reduced. I replaced part number 3196891.

To adjust the oven burner flame, you will need to slightly tighten the burner orifice spud on the gas valve. Only make a slight adjustment (1/4 turn clockwise) and then recheck the burner. Repeat the adjustment and recheck the flame as necessary to achieve the proper flame height. You may also need to adjust the air shutter.

You can also adjust the broiler burner orifice spud if necessary. Check it after you have adjusted the bake burner flame. You will need two wrenches to adjust this spud on the broiler burner. Hold broiler fitting from turning while you adjust the burner orifice spud to adjust the broiler flame. You may also need to adjust the air shutter on the broiler to achieve the proper flame height.

If you are not completely confident in your technical ability to properly adjust these oven burner flames, then I recommend calling a service technician to check and adjust the burners.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
