Answer itGarage door opener problem. This site sucks. There is no way to reasonably ask follow-up questions.
When I try to operate my garage door opener, it clicks twice and the green light blinks 5 times. What does this mean?

The 5 blinks of the led tells you the problem is in the rpm sensor in the motor unit of the garage door opener. You can go to www.searspartsdirect.com and see a parts diagram of your garage door opener.
There is a black plastic interrupter cup mounted on the end of the motor shaft. Be sure this cup is pushed on the shaft as far as it will go. The notched edge of the interrupter cup rides inside

SO my followup question - cup is seated. Motor does not move AT ALL. Is it worth replacing the RPM Sensor (there are no RPM's to sense! If sensor's dead will it completely stop the motor?) or is it a fried logic board? The diff is $18 for a sensor, $88 for a logic board or $150 for an opener. I want my car back in the garage. Answer soon, I asked this 6 days ago. First answer was good, followup stinks.

The rpm sensor can cause the the motor not to run. Replace the rpm sensor. I apologize for the delay in getting a question answered. We are working overtime to catch up. Our target is to answer all questions within 2 days. We still haven't gotten there.
