I own a Sears garage door opener. My remote battery was replaced. Does it have to be reprogrammed?

it is a Sears 3/4 HP garage door opener w/ 2 remotes. The remotes have three buttons; large, medium and small. gray and blue in color. The remotes are model 139.53681B. It is a rolling number system I understand. When the battery is replaced, does the remote need to be reprogrammed? The battery is a lithiun 3V CR 2032.

Yes, when the battery is removed the opener disconnects the remote from the code.

I am sending you an image with instructions for programming the garage door opener.

Before you program the remote, erase all the codes from the logic board on the garage door opener. Do this by holding the learn button on the motor unit in until the led on the opener goes off. All remotes and keyless entries will have to be reprogrammed after the codes are erased.

The reason for erasing the codes is because the memory of the logic board will store 4-6 codes. When the memory is full the logic board will not accept any codes.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
