What should I use to level my back yard with bahia grass - deep impressions and dips?

Grass is fairly even across yard so it is hard to see the dips until you step in one - dangerous for running children!

Use a mixture of sand and soil - about 50/50. Add small amounts in the low areas and rake it in very gently. You can build up low areas this way using repeated top dressings every few weeks.

If the dips are too big, you may want to consider aerifying the grass - you can rent a machine (or enlist a yard service company). An aerifier cuts small cores out of the ground - if you do this followed by rolling the lawn you'll see some smoothing of the contours.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
