How do I mate the garage door opener to the receiver on my Craftsman opener?

I changed batteries in my remotes. The only model I can find is 41a5021-2f. It is a Craftsman opener. I tried following the instructions on the side of the opener to no avail. What next? I plan on checking the batteries.

You probably need to erase the codes from the logic board on the garage door opener. The memory of the logic board will store 4-6 codes. If the memory is full it won't accept another code.

Hold the learn button on the garage door opener in until the led goes off. This will erase the codes in the memory of the logic board. It should accept the code of the remotes now.

When you program the remotes, remove the battery from the one you are not programming. Sometimes the remotes fail and won't let the other remote program. This way you will find the bad one if you have one. The instructions on the opener should work to program the remotes.

The model number of your garage door opener is on a tag on the motor unit. It will be something like 139.53664srt. You might need to remove the light cover to find it.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
