I want to transplant the daylilies from the back as we are planting a vegetable garden in that spot. Will plant the daylilies in the front yard next to the sidewalk leading into the house to add color and replace perennial flowers. I will be doing this in a week or two in NC Zone 8a.
Fortunately, daylilies are indestructible. Just dig up a clump of them, plop them in their new hole in the front, and stomp on the the soil around them with your foot to firm it up. If you're feeling especially generous, dump some water on them.
Here's a tip: Set the plants far enough back from the sidewalk that they won't attack your ankles when you walk by.Member
