It is a Sears Craftsman garage door opener, model 139.53627SRT. When I tried to open it, it was frozen to the floor, so the motor just ran for a few seconds until I cycled the opener down. I freed it from the ground, and when I tried to open it again, the motor ran, but the sprocket and chain would not move. Can this be fixed? My manual doesn't have that scenario. Thank you very much.
Unplug the opener from power and remove the outer cover of the motor unit. Turn the opener on and see what is broken. It probably stripped the nylon gears that drive the sprocket.
