Is there an installation diagram available for the gear and sprocket assembly for a garage door opener?

The owners manual says I need to refer to a parts diagram. I am looking for information on the best way to change out the gear assembly. It is a model 139.53674SRT2 garage door opener. Are there installation instructions available?

There are no installation instructions available for replacing the gear and sprocket assembly. We wrote out the basic instructions. I am sending these instructions to you. If you will look at a parts diagram that will help also. I hope this helps you.

Unplug the garage door opener from the power. Loosen the chain at the trolley and remove it from the sprocket on the opener.

Remove the outer cover from the motor unit of the opener.

Remove the 3 screws that hold the sprocket and gear assembly to the top of the motor unit and lift the assembly out the top.

Remove the clip and the gear that drives the limit switch. Note the position of the door and of the limit switch. be sure they are in the same approximate positions when you reassemble.

Remove the screws that hold the motor to the motor unit housing and remove the motor unit. Mark the wires as you remove them so you can put them back as they were.

Drive the roll pin out of the motor shaft and slide the worm gear off the shaft.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
