I have an issue with my Craftsman 3/4 HP Garage Door Opener (Model 53990).
I purchased a Craftsman 3/4 HP Garage Door Opener (Model 53990. The manual says the exact model is 139.5399011) in February 2005. Recently, one of the two garage door opener bulbs burnt out. The problem I am having is that even when I replace the bulb with a new one, the bulb still will not turn on. The other of the two bulbs is fine (it turns on when I open the garage door or if I enter the garage at all). I'm not sure what the problem is. Thanks for your help.

The only way to test the circuit is with a volt/ohm meter. Turn the light on and test the voltage at the socket. You should have 110-120 volts. If you don't have the voltage there, remove the cover for the motor unit and unplug the garage door opener. Trace the white wire back to the terminal block and be sure it is connected good. Trace the black wire back to the logic board and be sure it is connected good and the wire is not broken anywhere. If all this checks out, the relay on the logic board is bad and you need a new logic board.
