my garage door goes down and then goes back up. I checked the sensors and nothing is blocking them

In addition to the sensor beams, there's another sensor built into the motor that makes the door go back up if it's working too hard to move the door. Try adjusting the sensitivity of the "down force" sensor. The door may be contacting the ground and the sensor think it's actually hitting an obstacle.
The other fix would be to slightly reduce the down travel of the door to make it stop just a split second before it contacts the ground.Join this conversation.
