Why do I have to keep pushing wall button to make my genie garage door opener go down?

I live in Miami so I don't think it's weather changes. I have a Genie Pro Max 2 garage door opener and it won't go down unless I keep the button pushed. A lot of times It'll still stop and try to go back up and it turns in to a wrestling match. The sensors aren't obstructed. Any ideas?

You might have bad door sensors, wiring to the sensors, or logic board in the opener.

If either led on the door sensors is blinking, the sensors are misaligned. If either door sensor light is not on, replace the sensors.

Check the voltage from the logic board at the sensors. If it is not 4-5 volts dc, check the voltage at the logic board with the sensor wires disconnected. If the voltage is incorrect at the terminals the logic board is bad.

Check the wiring to the sensors and be sure a staple is not cutting the wire.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
