My fence guy dug a hole and broke the underground tube from my gutters, can this cause any problems with other drains? Are they all connected underground at one point?
The pipe often connects from your downspout and into the storm drain out at the street. If there are multiple downspouts on one side of the house, they often connect into the same pipe leading out to the storm drain. If left unrepaired, rain water from your gutters will not be transported away to the storm sewer and can over saturate the area where it is pooling - worst case this could contribute to basement leakage, because now extra water is building up where the pipe is broken, which normally would have been carried away from the house to the storm drain.
