The remotes for Gar Door Openers stopped working yesterday and restarted today. Ideas why?
Yesterday, 2 openers, both model 139.53985D, purchased 9/05, would not work with any remote more than an inch or 2 from the unit. Today, they work fine. Is it possible that there was some sort of radio interference? How can I make sure this doesn't happen again?

It is definitely radio interference. I suggest you look in drawers and furniture cushions for an old remote that had the button held down. Someway it got moved and is no longer transmitting. If it happens again look at the led on the openers to see if it is blinking. This is a fairly normal thing. Remotes get lost or don't work any more so they get put away.
It is possible the rf is coming from a neighbors house also.Join this conversation.
