I installed a new sprocket assembly because main gear was stripped on the garage door opener. Now when you open the door it moves about 12 inches then reverses 12 inches. The door sensors are unobstructed.
Hold the button on the wall switch in and see if the door will close. If the door closes by holding the button in, the problem is in the door safety sensors. Check their alignment and see if the led's are on steady. If they seem normal, replace the door sensors.
If the wall switch won't close the door the problem is in the rpm sensor. This is the small sensor on the end of the motor shaft. See if the plastic interrupter cup is pushed all the way on the motor shaft. Check the wire harness connector that connects to the rpm sensor. If you don't find any thing replace the rpm sensor.Member
