Craftsman Model 139.53990D Garage Door Opener. I use the remote that is permanently a part of my vehicle. The opener was installed April 2008. Worked fine until November 2008. Now sometimes the door will open with the remote and sometimes it will not open. The problem is intermittent. I live in KS but interestingly I have relatives in FL who have had the same problem with their opener, of the same model. What is happening?

Do you have other remotes? If so do they have the same problem? Try putting a different remote in your vehicle and the next time your remote doesn't work, try the second remote. If the second remote doesn't work, there is probably a problem with intermittent radio frequency (rf) in the area. If the second remote works ok something is wrong with the remote in your vehicle.
