I have a Sears Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener. The door will not stay closed. What to do?
It is a Sears Craftsman 1/2 hp model 41a5389c. There is nothing blocking the door. We have tried changing the adjustments, but nothing is working.

I am assuming the door is going all the way down then reopening. If this is the case the down travel is probably out of adjustment. Adjust the down travel. I am sending you a copy of the page from the owners manual with instructions for adjusting up and down travel.
With the door closed pull the release rope on the trolley. Open and close the door manually several times. If the door is binding you need to get the garage door repaired. If the door moves smoothly and will stay 1/2 way up the problem is in the garage door opener.If you need an owners manual for the opener go to [www.managemylife.com].
