I have a Craftsman keyless entry control installed. The previous owner did not leave the code. How do I reset it?

I recently bought a house and the previous owner did not leave the code for the keyless entry for the garage. Is there a way to reset this so I can put in my own entry code without having to go buy a new keyless entry system?

Without a model number I can't give you exact instructions for programming the keyless entry.

If the keyless entry has an enter button on it you press and release the learn button on the motor unit of the garage door opener. Within 30 seconds enter your 4 digit code and hold the enter button in until the light blinks on the garage door opener. The keyless should work then.

If your keyless does not have an enter button these instructions should work. Press and release the learn button on the garage door opener. Within 30 seconds enter the 4 digit code on the keyless. Wait 1 minute and the keyless should work.

You can download an owners manual for your garage door opener that has these and many helpful instructions in it by going to [www.managemylife.com]. In the manual search area enter the brand of the garage door opener and the model number.

The model number of the garage door opener is on the motor unit. It will be in the format of 139.53652SRT.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
