How to kill mold & mildew in the crawl space? What water/bleach mixture should be used?
Found daughter's crawl space with essentially no vapor barrier and significant mold/mildew on joists, supports, insulation and HVAC system. I will install barrier, but need to kill the mold/mildew already there. Any help with the approach is appreciated.

Bleach and water is not recommended. It used to be, however, recent studies have shown that this can create some unhealthy compounds that you shouldn't inhale.
It would be best to use soap and water and scrub the mold off. There are also some anti-microbial sprays available that you could apply afterwards.Join this conversation.
