Thank you for your help. I will try to be very detailed. This top mount freezer has the handle on the left, the hinge on the right. It is unlevel horizontally, sloping downward right to left about 3/8". It is also unlevel vertically, the door about 5/8" from the unit at the top sloping out to about 1 & 1/4" at the bottom. I can loosen the hinge (I noticed I didn't tell you the hinge shim apparently was never installed, so is not there), brace the door, and get it level in both directions. However, after tightening the hinge, when I remove my bracing the door falls back out of level. Per your 2nd suggestion, I inspected the hinges at the top and bottom of the refrigerator door and they appear to be sound. I removed the freezer door and removed, cleaned, and replaced the plastic washer on the top refrigerator hinge. Thanks again for your assistance. Images are attached.
Thanks for the additional information. The fact that you had the door level and it dropped when you removed your blocks tells me there is too much play between the hinge pin and the door. The part diagram for the refrigerator shows a thimble that fits into the hole at the top of the door. Look and see if your refrigerator has a nylon thimble in this hole. If it doesn't that is the problem. If the door swing was reversed the thimble is probably in the hole on the opposite end of the door. If that is not the problem measure the door diagonally and see if the measurements are the same. Measure from the bottom right to the top left. Measure from the bottom left to the top right. The distance should be the same. This will tell you if the door is twisted or warped. Do the same thing on the cabinet to see if the cabinet is twisted or warped. The part number for the thimble in the freezer door is WR02X10111 and the cost is around $10.00.I hope this helps you solve your problem. I am sorry it took 3 emails to work it out.
