I live in the high desert at 4800 ft - what should I bedi in fall with my yard?
Should I be seeding? Should I mulch?

This month in a high country desert garden, do the following:

• Plant spring bulbs • Plant trees, shrubs, and perennials, if you like, though it's usually better to wait until spring • Reseed lawns. (Keep well watered!) • Plant cool-season garden crops, such as lettuces, spinach, radishes, broccoli, and other fast-producing veggies. • Divide perennials that bloom in spring or early summer. • Keep plants well watered. • Tidy up the garden, deadhead, weed, and mulch as desired. You can mulch just about any time of year.
