What is the best way to strip my redwood deck, which has a couple of solid stains (or paint) on it a

I just bought a house with a huge redwood deck, but want to strip and re-stain it so it looks more natural. I was curious as to which method would be best for stripping the old stain off.

The only practical way is to use a paint stripper (chemical). You will also need a power washer. Apply the stripper to a small area, allow to penetrate, and then use the power washer to blow off the loosened finish. Work your way around the deck in small areas. When finished, use a deck cleaner to ensure the residual stripper is removed. Then you will be ready to reapply a new finish to the deck.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
