How do I get rid of vines that are consuming my lawn, without killing the grass?
You can use a herbicide designed for broadleaved weed -- those herbicides usually contain 2,4-D and might also contain MCPP (mecoprop). if it also contains dicamba, don't apply it near the roots of trees or shrubs.
You don't mention what kind of vine it is -- perhaps English Ivy? Some vines have a waxy coating on the leaves that is hard to penetrate. That coating tends to get thinner after a few cloudy days, so you might have better results then. It's likely that you'll have to apply herbicide several times during the growing season, at 2-3 week intervals. Be sure to follow label directions carefully, to protect yourself, your lawn, and the environment.Member
