What temperature should I measure from my central air conditioner?

I have a new HE American Standard furnace and a Maytag A/C unit. What temperature should I be measuring at the register? Getting 110 and 55.

You should measure a temperature drop of at least 21-23 degrees between the return air grill and the first air supply register. If you are getting 110 degree air from 1 of the registers, there is a separation in the air supply duct.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
