There are a couple of organic treatments you can try.

One is predatory nematodes. You can purchase these online and they are considered a biological control. Follow the accompanying directions very precisely and treat the entire lawn, not just patches.

Milky spore powder, also available online, is another biological control that is reported to be fairly effective.

The best time to treat the problem is when the grubs are small and near the soil surface, mid-July to August and September. The next best time is March to April when the grubs also near the soil surface (but they're smaller than in late summer).

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
