My baby Shefflera houseplants have this orange vine- like stuff with white buds wrapped around. What is it?

I need to know what this is and what to buy to kill it

You don't say if the plant is indoors or outdoors. If it's outdoors, it might be dodder, which is a parasitic annual weed that wraps itself around plants with thread-like vines. If it is dodder, pull it out. You can't spray it with anything that won't kill the plant.

Consider taking a sample to the county office of the Cooperative Extension Service for positive identification.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
