Why won't my remotes work with my new key pad on garage door opener? Key pad matches blue button!

Model 139.53684 keyless entry. Before the remotes worked, but the old keyless entry pad did not! I did program in a new code on the key pad and that works fine. What do I have to do to make the remotes to work?

Without the model number of the opener itself it is difficult to say for certain but it still sounds like you have an incompatibility issue.

Another possibility is the opener memory is filled to capacity, in which case you can erase it to reset everything and then program in all remotes and the keyless again, see images below or your owner’s manual for details. If you still cannot program all items in at that stage you are back to a compatibility issue or one of the remotes (or the new keyless) is malfunctioning due to a low battery or internal failure.

It can be difficult to confirm where the problem is because the remote or keyless with the problem might still program and work; it just “confuses” the opener in the process. Then the opener will not longer recognize signals from the others even though they have no fault themselves. The information in the link below might help with narrowing down what component is at fault.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
