My tomato leaves are curled up. What can I do?
When tomato leaves start to curl, it can be the sign of the start of a handful of different tomato diseases, including curly top, mosaic, and fusarium wilt. These diseases can kill young plants and at the very least, reduce tomato production later on. And you can't really do anything to stop these diseases at this point.
With these diseases, the best thing to do is to replant tomatoes in a spot at least 50 feet away since these diseases can be spread by the soil. Do not replant the infected area for 2-3 years. On a more hopeful note, it may just be what is called tomato leaf roll, which usually happens after a lot of rain or too much watering. It's common during wet springs, especially with 'Big Boy' and 'Beefsteak' tomatoes. When conditions are drier in a few days, it may just go away.Member
