When over-seeding a lawn, is it better to pull a dethatcher in front of the seed spreader or behind?
I'm not sure what you mean about pulling a dethatcher from in front of the seed bed or behind, because these should be two separate processes. First dethatch. Then seed.
However, if you are dethatching your lawn, definitely do it before seeding. It will expose soil and it's critical that the seed make contact with the soil or it won't germinate.Definitely do not dethatch after you seed. It is likely to damage and dislodge seed.Member
