I just received a garage door opener but it did not come with any instruction on how to program?

There was no packaging or instruction sheet to tell me how to teach the remote to open my door. opener 139.53752

Unfortunately I was not able to use the model number as shown so it might have an error in it. Does look like the model number for a universal conversion kit however, in which case there likely is a Smart or Learn button on the converter and you now can program remotes in the same way as a regular SRT system.

If you correct the model number, specifically the last digit, you can also use it to find the manual online at Manage My Home for more specific programming information. Go to the Home page of Manage My Home and hold your mouse over the square labeled HOME in the upper left of the page. A drop-down menu will appear, choose the option Products and manuals and then enter the model information and follow the steps.

- To program an SRT transmitter/remote, do the following

  • Press and hold the selected remote push button.
  • Then press and release the "SRT" (learn) button on the back panel of the opener. The opener light will flash once.
  • Release the remote push button.

Now the opener will operate when the remote control button is pressed. If you decide to use a different remote control button than originally programmed into the opener, you need to erase all the learned codes and reprogram each remote control used to operate the garage door opener.

To erase all codes:

  • Press and hold the "SRT" button on the opener panel until the indicator light turns off (about 6 seconds). All the codes the opener has learned will be erased.
  • Repeat steps 1,2, and 3 above for each remote control in use.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
