My question is regarding the pipe in the garage. I have a hose connected to the pipe and when I turn the pipe on, there is no problem (no leaking), but when I use the hose and nozzle and stop the water with the nozzle, water starts spewing out from the pipe where it connects to the hose. I changed the washer on the hose and this worked for about a month, but now it's starting to leak again. I tried changing the washer again, but it doesn't help. It's as if the water is backing up in the hose and the pressure is too much for the connection between the hose and pipe. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?
In all likelihood, the threaded section on the faucet is out of round, or more likely, the threaded section on the hose is out of round, or poorly connected to the rest of the hose. I would borrow a neighbor's hose and try it. You can also buy replacement fittings for your hose at any major hardware store.
