How do I go about reprogramming the keyless entry pad, without having a PIN to begin the procedure?

I have a model 139.53990 garage door opener. It was purchased and installed in January, '04. Recently, I believe that I managed to erase all the codes from the keypad. And now I cannot open the garage door using the keypad entry. How do I go about reprogramming the keyless entry pad, without having a PIN to begin the procedure? It is a 3/4 hp. Craftsman garage door opener and the manual doesn't describe a way to reprogram the pad without having a PIN to enter first. How do I deal with that?

You can simply program a new PIN code in as you would at initial installation and that will over-write the old code. Follow the instructions in the link below and you should have no problems.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
