What do I need to do to remove the rpm sensor from my garage door opener?

I have a Craftsman model 139.53674SRT2 garage door opener. I am replacing the drive gear and I need to remove the rpm sensor.

I assume you are removing the rpm sensor so you can slide the motor back out of the drive gear. You don't need to remove it. The wires just plug onto it. If you do want to remove the rpm sensor, on each side of the board there are plastic tabs sticking up. With a small screwdriver bend one of the tabs out and lift the side of the board up to clear the tab. Tilt the rear of the board up and slide it off the locator pins and away from the other tab.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
