Can I convert my Craftsman garage door opener model 13953646 to open an eight foot door?
I have a Craftsman garage door opener, 1/2 H.P., Model #13953646. I had it on a standard 7 ft door. I want to move it to an 8ft door. Is there a kit that I can purchase to accomplish this?

The parts information for model 139.53646 in our Sears system is somewhat confusing. It lists an extension kit for a belt drive opener. It also lists a kit for a cable and chain opener. I am sending you both kit numbers. Be sure you order the correct one for your opener.
The part number for an eight foot extension kit for a belt drive garage door opener is 53784. The extension kit for a belt drive opener is 53724. The new belt or chain and cable are supplied in the kits along with the rail extensions.
