I have a Model 41A4315-7D 1/2HP opener mfd 5/98. After 7 years of operation it started closing part way and then opening back up. I tried lubing all points and the slide and then it seemed to operate okay. Tried operating several times to check it and then it stopped halfway open. Suspect overheating from repeated cycles. Cannot find a reset button. Only button is the green remote setting button. Is there a reset button and where is it accessed?
There is no reset button. In the case of an overheat the unit will rest itself, usually in 10-15 minutes. If the opener does not reset then something may have been permanently damaged or you may have something that is still dragging or binding on the door assembly and overloading the opener so that it just keeps overloading without moving.
I included a couple of links with some checks and advise that might help here. If you do need parts you will need to get the correct model number as the number you listed is a part number only. The model number should be on a tag on the overhead opener itself near the programming button that you mentioned and likely starts with a "139." prefix.
