I have a remote that tells me if the garage door is open or closed. Recently is has begun to flash red and green all the time. I don't know what I can do about it.
The lights are flashing to warn you that the battery on the transmitter is running low.
It is a fail-safe system since a failed transmitter battery would make it impossible for the monitor to warn you when the door is opening. The transmitter mounts to the garage door so it is not possible to plug it in and the transmitter size limits it to a small lithium battery which is normally good for about 1 year.
Just find the transmitter on your garage door and look for a small slot on the side of it. Twisting a coin or screwdriver in that slot will pop off the cover allowing you access to the battery. If you have a Craftsman monitor the battery will be a CR 2032. If not, use the number on the battery to find a replacement at your Sears Store or even most convenience or grocery stores.
