I have a model 139.53500 opener. It has a wall switch inside the garage and a wired keypad outside the garage. The keypad plugs into the wall switch with a ribbon cable and a male connector. Inside the wall switch I can see a standard 9 volt battery and a slide switch. The former owner didn't give me the keypad code. Is there a way to clear the old code and enter a new one ?
The slide switch you saw in the wall control is for programming the keyless remote. Set it on the program position and enter the four digit code you want to use. Move the switch back to the operate position and it should work. To open the door just put in the four digit code and the door should open. You should probably replace the 9 volt battery in case it is weak or dead.
