What are some reasons why the screw drive on my garage door is making an unusual noise while running?
Recently had garage door serviced. Never noticed the screw drive making noise before, but it is possible that I never heard it, as I had the old metal (noisy) rollers replaced with new nylon rollers.

Screw drive assemblies do make some noise. There needs to be a certain amount of clearance between the screw and the holders in order for the assembly to operate and even normal operating vibration will cause the two components to rattle against each other.

Your Manage My Home profile did not note the model of your opener but the vast majority of screw drives are a permanently lubed and sealed assembly so your recent service would not have altered anything in how quietly the screw itself operates. As you noted, what you are hearing is more likely how quiet the new rollers are and not any problem with the screw drive itself.
