Why won't my new keyless work with my remotes?

Have a model 139.53977SRT Craftsman garage door opener with two hand held remotes and a wall mounted Premium Control Console. I recently purchased a wireless keyless entry at Sears, model (9)53876. Showed the remotes and gave model # of opener to salesman and was told this was the proper keyless pad. After the keypad was programmed, installed and working, the hand held remotes did not work. I reprogrammed the hand held remotes and now the keypad doesn't work. Do I need to erase all codes from motor unit memory or is there something I'm not doing correctly? Please help this old lady figure this out! Thanks.

I am sorry to say that the keyless you were given is incorrect for that model opener. As you have noted, the opener can recognize the signal but will not be able to read it at the same time as the remotes.

If you exchange the keyless for a 09.009.53684 keyless you should be able to program everything in to work together. If you are still having problems then the memory may have filled during the attempts to get everything working. In the blue link below there are instructions on how to erase the memory.

I apologize for the confusion and the frustrations, the units are very similar and sometimes mix-ups do happen. If you have any further issues feel free to get back to us and we will do all we can to assist.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
